You do know all people don't IMMEDIATELY go to college after high school, right? Some people wait a while, or return later in life.
My thought on this was Dory graduated a while ago or something, and was headed towards some random place of no importance. But that's just me.

Rochester was in his late thirties/early forties, Jane Eyre was eighteen, and they got married. ...I have no idea who those people are. And it's still creepy. And I guess you're right Marlin, but then that's usually only for a year or two. I guess that makes a difference. You know. A small one. But, we're also talking about fish here- their time differences work differently than humans, so maybe Marlin wouldn't be such a craddle robber then. I dunno. I NEED TO READ THE BOOK FIRST, OKAY?

I've known several people who went to college in their 30s, my mother included.
And as I said, I still think Dory graduated years ago. She doesn't look that young to me...mostly because she's modeled after DeGeneres.

Rochester was in his late thirties/early forties, Jane Eyre was eighteen, and they got married. ...I have no idea who those people are. And it's still creepy. You've never read Jane Eyre?! By Charlotte Bronte?! Dude, that is one of my favoritest books. Ever. Then again, it was written when it was popular to marry off teenage virgins to old dudes. Even so, it is wonderful. A billion gazillion trillion times better than the TWU WUV in Twilight. And why does everyone think Marlin (the fish, not the user) is so old? He didn't seem that old at the beginning of the movie. And Nemo is six years old (in fish years;in human years, that could mean, like...a month). BUT...we're not discussing Marlin here, we're discussing Dory. XD One thing I like about Dory is that she *isn't* just a comic relief. She has her solemn/serious moments...namely, when Marlin says good-bye to her, but also when they converse in the whale's mouth ("Can't let anything happen to him, cuz then nothing would ever happen to him.").

Well, it's the same with kids- they're happy, playful and don't take life too seriously, but they can be wise beyond their years when the moment arises, because of their simple innocence. They don't see the world the same way we do.
And I don't know why people think Marlin's old either, so I just went with the flow, 'cause everyone says he's middle aged. It's probably the wrinkles, though, if anything.

I picture him being around 38-40, and Dory being in her young 30s. But that's just me.
And you make a good point, YAY. Dory really seems to possess that emotionally intuitive nature that makes children so wonderful. She reminds me of those friends you have that just never seem to grow up, but you love them for that. Like...my best friend. My best friend is a lot like that sometimes.
That's a big part of Dory's appeal, I think: she's like that best friend you always wanted or you already have.

Sometimes I feel like Dory. Except I don't hang around a little boy and his father. Oh... wait... I do... OH GOD.

Oh, Dory's positively adorkable. I love her freckles and laugh. Just melts me every time, really. It's far weirder to find a certain middle-aged clownfish cute, trust me

I already knew. Do those dots mean or do anything, or are they just decorative?
If you look closely, Marlin, Nemo, and Coral have freckles too.

The conversation on page one of this thread was weird. I can't remember if this was addressed in the denouement or not, but did Dory get over her Short-term memory loss by the end of the film?

She's...OH GOD MARLIN IS A CRADDLE ROBBER OSHI--PEDO ALERT. PEDO ALERT!! D'you mean that, Barnaby? Yes, it was a rather odd thing to talk about, wasn't it? And no, Dory still had it. She still calls Nemo the wrong name ("Bye, Elmo!"). I don't think it's something she can ever "get over", but I wouldn't know really.
