Because it's so popular to personify non-human characters, I figured it should have it's own topic. I personally think it's fun to look at a character and guess at what details would translate into a human counterpart (though between you and me, I wish people would get a bit more creative with Marlin...so many striped shirts...). In any case, there's lots of good ones out there, so let's share them!
Voir la Vie en Rose by Violet-Kitsune-Lila. Teeechnically speaking, these are my designs...but the only drawing I've posted of them are crappy chibis I did on impulse for Valentine's Day. This one is FAR superior and just a real delight to look at. Heck, this is better than the SERIOUS doodles I've done of them. I decided to give Marlin a coat instead of a T-Shirt because I caaan~ (the white shirt and tie were her additions, and I must say they're really lovely...they do remind me a lot of this Marlin design, though...). I'm definitely gonna revisit Dory's design...I'm just not pleased with it as is. It's too...preppy. I want a more outdoorsy, spunky feel to her apparell.
Dory by marsbarrl. I really love marsbarrl's style...lots of soft colors and very original renditions of the characters. Her Dory is very outlandish and childish, so I feel it reflects the character very well.
Marlin and Dory by tobirankai (colored by sihira-hedgehog). Tobirankai's work is pretty good (a little stiff at times, but still quite excellent). I really like Dory's outfit. Again, it's very fitting to Dory's eccentric nature.
If Dory had lungs by scarlettestone. Dory in Lilo and Stitch style? Coolio! I particularly liked the plentitude of freckles.
Dory and Marlin by ink-n-imp. From the fanfiction Of Fish and Men, which is surprisingly good given the premise. It's one of the very few Dory/Marlin stories I really like, and the characterization is quite good, with a few faultering moments here and there. And this piece is dead-on as to how I pictured the two of them. Dory's oversized sweater makes me happy inside ;D
Don't forget by aerinsol. To be honest, this is probably my favorite of the Dory designs I've seen. It's very simple, yet endearing in that simplicity.
